Practitioners and journalists familiar with Australian FOI law will know how long it has taken for the law in this area to get any purchase on government entities. Many wonder if it is taken seriously in Australia yet. Others are aware of the delays and tactics and costs that can get in the way of an FOI request.

Indonesia's FOI laws from 2008 are nonetheless beginning to be recognised and used - if you can get around the requirement that you must be an Indonesian citizen or entity to make the request.
